Narrative
PRINCE FREDERICK, MD – A 51-year-old woman died, and three people were hurt Monday in a three-vehicle crash along a major roadway in Prince Frederick.
The incident occurred just before 7:15 p.m. on Hallowing Point Road near Seagull Beach Road, which is just east of the Benedict Bridge over Patuxent River.
Police say that a westbound 2020 Nissan Rogue entered the eastbound side of the roadway and collided head-on with an eastbound 2022 Hyundai Kona. The initial collision pushed the Hyundai into the 2019 Ford Fusion behind it.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Gina Taylor Johnson, died at the scene.
Medics airlifted the wrong-way driver, identified as Carla Jean Poole, to the hospital with critical injuries.
Both the driver of the Ford and a juvenile passenger went to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
