Narrative
FAULKNER, MD – Two women died, and another person went to the hospital Wednesday after a two-vehicle crash in central Charles County.
The accident occurred just before 1:45 p.m. on US-301 at Popes Creek Road, which is in the city of Faulkner.
Police say that a southbound 2017 Chevy Sonic struck a 2004 Toyota Camry as the latter vehicle drove across US-301 along Popes Cree Road.
The 81-year old driver of the Camry, identified as Norma Matthews, died at the scene of the accident, as did her 86-year-old passenger, Virginia Lacata.
Medics transported the driver of the Chevy via air ambulance to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
