Narrative
ELKRIDGE, MD – One person died, and at least three people sustained injuries earlier this month in a multi-vehicle crash in eastern Howard County.
The accident occurred just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 8th, on the southbound side of I-95 on the northeast side of Elkridge. This is about 12 miles southwest of Baltimore.
Police say that a southbound Jeep Cherokee rear-ended a police cruiser on the shoulder of the interstate. Three additional vehicles — a GMC pickup, a Lincoln SUV, and a Volkswagen — then hit the Jeep.
Medics transported a passenger from the Jeep, the driver of the GMC, and the police trooper to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the Jeep succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
A full investigation is underway.
